We are the World (25 yrs later)

I just wanted to get everyones opinion on the new version of "We Are the World" song/video for Haiti in 2010. I finished watching it a little while ago. And personally, enjoyed it. :) I hope it reaches its purpose. So if you haven't seen it. Here it is.

Poet Rock, ROCKED!! And time to serve more poetic paraphernalia

My People,

Thanks for the support!! If you were able to make it out to Poet Rock (Brooklyn) back on Tuesday,

much love. :) If you didn't know, I recently put together a mix CD of some of my well known, hand picked,

pieces. Some are live and some have musical accompaniment. Which I sold at Poet Rock at an insane type price.

A one night only special under $10. But made it a set price of $10 now.

At this time, my CD is only available at my shows. But that will change in the future.

My next big show, which I'm sure I mentioned before, is coming up in a few weeks;

will be February 19th, at Raggs of Harlem. 101 E 119th st. ,Harlem, NY.

Its the FINAL COUNTDOWN!! R U eady...?

Its the final countdown to poet Rock (Brooklyn)!! Tomorrow night, Jan. 26th 113 Franklin st. Green point Brooklyn. its show time! Are you gone rep and show up to support your lost son BK...? I'm gone set it off in the only way I know how...honestly. ;) Also feat. Heavy Pennies, Coole High, The 1shante and Tracie Josephine. I'll hope to see many familiar faces as well as much more new ones. Lets Rock Brooklyn!!! Buyaka!Buyaka! BUH BUH! BUH! BUH! BUH! Lol. My bad. Thats just the Crown heights in me coming out. ;)

My brunch at Abigail brooklyn

Jus got in 4rm a relaxing walk. Got sum lotion, so m'ass won't be ashy & some new toothbrushes. Stopped by nice spot called Abigail's 4 brunch. Its at 807 Classon avenue bet. St. Johns place & Lincoln place here in Brooklyn. When I walked in the first person I talked to, by accident/coincidence, turned out to be the owner! His name is James. Go check the spot out! Wednesday nights are also Open mic nite. 8pm-10pm. No cover as far as I know. But if you got the time, stroll in and find out.

Poet Rock (Brooklyn Concert) feat. me Jan. 26th Tuesday

I still have a good amount of tix on me. If you live in the tristate or even more, in the NYC metro area, or will be in NY the week of Jan. 26th, for whatever reason; Tuesday, check ya schedules, mark ya calenders and come out to enjoy a pleasurable mind & ear candy feeding soul rejuvenating night in Brooklyn.

I know its on a week/work night for most of you. But if you one of the ones that said they was coming by clicking "attending" or is considering it, get at me for some physical tix too. I don't, and repeat, DON'T to have any tix left on me by Jan. 25th! Yes they're $15. But you can't use the "recession" excuse to keep you from a concert that all artist involved, will prove they were worth the admission. Why not come...?

I mean, if you can spend $15 and up to get into some club/party, to get wasted at and end up home or at someone else's home the next morning...You can bring yo a$$ here Jan. 26th. (And no, I'm not getting hostile w/u, just saying) And most, if not all the artist will have product(CD's...etc..) you can commemorate the night with by buying at the end.

Time 2 make due...

Peace my people,

I write this last blog of '09 during the last 10 mins of the year. Its been a very trying year for me. With finding out my school temp. dismissed me. Came to the unruly conclusion that A woman I thought I knew and had a relationship with turned into a beautiful disaster love affair that left some 3rd degree burns on my heart. And one of the most unfortunate highlights of my year being, when the ceiling of my own room fell in on me.

It wasn't until I decided to check out a spot in here in Brooklyn for an open mic. At Soule Restaurant that I hit a turning point back in late July. The energy and the love of the new additions to my poetic family helped give me the strength to make it to this point. And the new recognition for and of my work made my soul smile. Though still no love in my life, my blood and literary fam did a lot for me.

I'll make this blog a short one. And finish by saying, thank God for guiding the right kind of people in my life when I needed it. I look forward to positive and prosperous new yr .and decade ahead.

Some Unlocked thoughts....and revolations

Peace my TCM people, This quick blast is with no particular big announcement in mind. But Just let know my current thoughts at this very moment. A lots been on my mind lately. But I'll be brief here to take up as lil of your time as possible. My writing and certain aspect of my life have been in question as of late. As well of my actions concerned with issues I'm far overdue to address in my personal life outside venues and off stage. Know, that none of these questions have been brought up by anyone besides yours truly. Like Why..? Or Why haven't I..? I know I'm being mad vague. But My soon to be finished book, "Unlocked Thoughts of a Prophet's Temple" Has been making my mind vibrate bout concerns I shouldn't and can't ignore bout myself going into this new decade with. Most you will hopefully understand and take what you will from my book. (which is turning to more than just your average poetry book) Till That time comes, I will make my return to the Nuyorican Poets Cafe Slam poetry scene. Wednesday, December 23 2009 to compete. (after a over 5 month absence) If any more shows before hand are added I'll keep everyone posted. I may even make some sporadic appearances here and there.
