Pieces 4 Ur Heart

Pieces 4 Ur Heart

When it hits that thin line between late night and day break...

the next stanza of you is hard to start...

because in mind I'm with you,

but our bodies are apart so I hope these words connect the puzzle board of this growing love.

There comes a time in a mans life when he realizes games are for bedrooms and toys.

And Boyish tendencies only dis your Psyche.

So my agenda and mission, incite your mind with guarantees.

ignite your chakra with tantra's for dynasty lips to suck the legacy out my Ankh.

While I leave the shores of your Nile River soaked for generations to cum...and to come.

My words are the bonds I use to hold on to my sanity and lingering solace.

They massaging your heart and soul leaving a euphoric content inside

is a humbling bonus for me.

I can feel it...the clear residue of Carbon monoxide from my pupils.

My soul wants to get some air and stays scentless.

Rumbles of despair within the instinct part of my trifecta fears…

I want to love you new.

Love the inner beauty possessed but shown to the privileged few when

the door of opportunity to your hearts sanctuary is unlocked.

I'd must be shell shocked to have you believe and me conceive the notion that

I'm a poetic surgeon to help repair, and fulfill your needs...but I'll try.

Trust, this isn't AB trying to spit no game atchu...

my current mission is to polish the picture of a jewel inside your chest

and keep the frame around it from dope fiend leaning.

Since I've seen and know women, some friends, others ex's

who's aura me and other men have provoked, broke and damaged,

not delivering what they deserved right,

was blind to my neglecting ways even though

my vision is considered 20/20 in hindsight.

Just getting my mind right...on this road 2 redemption.

Like Vanessa, no man should have the power to crack your sunshine

via the mistrust and disgust of trifling brothers out there

That gives the rest of us a bad name.

But in regards of good ones...I can only speak for myself.

You know we all are far from perfect,

though I'd never want a Goddess like you to hang hopeful happiness on the shelf.

So, lets agree to say love and content solace together is all about perspective.

And if its believed you've had your "Final Fantasy"

Then every blow taking from this point on will be supper effective to your B.S. proof intuition.

After hearing these words, know that their adhesive from my lips,

was not only spoken to keep your equilibrium of faith in love...

together by the half or part,

just an offering of pieces 4 UR Heart.

Wide Open Wednesdays (Monthly event on 1st Weds.) At Museum of Sex in Oral fix Cafe' 10-5-11

Originally suppose to be posted last Wed. night. Oct. 5th. But got delayed. So...here it go!)

Well, last night I decided to break habit, or do something out of ritual for me on a Wednesday night and go some place I haven't been before. Which I did, and happen to end up at the Museum of Sex on 233 5th ave (off the corner of E 27th st) in Manhattan. A monthly open mic with the theme....you guessed it, SEX! Now being sexually and erotically conscious, I admit to a degree. (And being a Scorpio, you know the deal. ;) )I thought, before leaving my crib and when I walked in...I'm well overdue. Lol!

So I must of past it countless times and heard bout it on the news. But last night coming there was def. worth my wild...key word: WILD. Smh. lol. The $hit I heard...smh. A chick did a song
called "I F#%ked him for fire crackers". Another woman (who was an opera singer mind you) sung (in opera form) a song with the with the hook, "Tonight I'm F%#king you...". Lol! That $hit was hilarious!! And entertaining. The stuff I saw...
Well didn't get any footage during the show itself, let alone pics. But I did take some snaps after the show that was definitely worth the time I spent and had. Loved the receptiveness of the crowd and interactivity too. Oh, yea. The pics are below. (SN: I'm definitely coming back next month with my girl. We already done confirmed that!)

Met some pretty cool people here on this night. All because I decided to break with routine of places I'd usually go and try something different. Trying to experience as much new things as possible in this reborn day month of mine. And so far, so good. Wonder what else is in store for me before its through...? Hell, before the year is through, I believe much progress will be made on many things. As usual, time will tell.

So, till next time. My road 2 redemption continues!

I should sue his ass!!

*Disclaimer: This is a little free write new -ish piece that was spawned from a recent incident at home that happened to me. Along with other things that came about involving me, my fam and our land lord that came to mind. As well as friend's input about it. And I got the scrapes and bruises to prove it!!

Scars of a hardknock life in the cursed hell I call an apt

I should sue his ass!!
for making me and my family's lives uncomfortable. For almost 2 decades,
his bitch tantrum parades of power over us. Had city services clean us out of house and home.
The stuff we lost mostly forever gone. clothes, money, jewelry, ID...Like Bernie Mac I should bust his head to the white meat!!!

I should sue his ass!!
in every attempt possible in making my pops look small.
I should sue his ass for being a man with no balls. How dare a land lord treat his tenants this way..?
and show proper respect to all the others living here practically "related" some how to him to my dismay. To cuss us out as bad hygened mongrils, when he the real bitch. But sometimes, common men forget, that every dog has his day. With the evil men do, karma must get payed. No human being deserves their dignity armor dismantled like that. I don't give a damn about your authority. I do matter and will not be overlooked ya crook.

And I should sue his ass!!
For being so gotdamn bold. How dare he give me and my fam the redheaded step child treatment, then wanna throw us out in the cold? You damn straight I live in a unhealthy environment. But your constant barrages of selfrighteous sanctimonious logic hasn't made it a easier time spent. With only care is that we make sure you git your rent on the 1st of the month. going off on us if its late like that time of the month.

So I should sue his ass!!
cause friends and family say to me it was a felony what happened to A.B.
my mind and my ceiling breaking down like fractions divide me from up above Not sure what I did to karma to get no love. I saying, it was so wide, with some thickness. Came down like brick, and besides me and four walls, a crime with no one else to witness. Broke membrain lining of my neck's skin. scars developing and a sore shoulder. Gotta hit the hospital a.s.a.p., so this soldier of life can march on. Friday the 13th tried to sing my swan song, but Jason wasn't the culpret. I'll live but still, pray for me.

Laying the foundation

Well, I've had a lot going on lately. With these shows, whether open mic, featuring, or slamming, preparing for the coming spring semester in School(which I got more than enough task and issues dealing with that alone) and this album...which has been in demand for a little while now....can all feel a bit overwhelming for me at times.

But I believe through all this stress, writing, and speaking the truth as therepy for myself and the people...is all for a God giving purpose. Everything I've done so far good and/or bad thes past few months and years, I believe has been to Lay the ground work, foundation for the future fruits my labor will induce.

And sometimes, I wish me and Lucifer had a truce. Though I doubt that would prevent him from trying to keep me from producing success. I mean, my determination could use some work. But no one has never accused me of lack faith and will. Damn, I feel like this blog is starting to turn into a new poem. Oh well, if it does, fuck it. It is what it is. Anyway, thinking about some great Figures of past and present...like MLK...Garvey...Medgar...Frederick Douglass...Cornell West...Taalam Acey...Abi-odun of the last poets...among others that layed the foundation for me and people. They all having a hand bringing us up as equals.

So, my focus of this particular entry, after all this thinking...was to point out a little bit of some concrete individuals. They all had a will, passion and determination built into their sheet rock values. But all also had a common trait that separate all great minds from the rest....deciding to be Extra-ordinary, instead of ordinary to accomplish their dreams and goals to make life better for them and our common man. Even if it took making history and sacrifices to do it...whether by lack of sleep,(martin, malcom, Taalam...etc) getting rocks thrown at them,(martin, Medgar,....etc.)causing controversy with mind invoking verbal vernacular,(Medgar, Martin, Adam Clayton powell, malcom, Huey Newton, Cornell West, Abi-odun, Taalam...etc)facing descrimination and racism(all of the above).

Whether it was via spoken word or civil rights, (which on some level both go hand in hand) God's Work or fates master plan...these men's trials & tribulations were a part  laying the foundation. And Thats one of my goals for this new year into the next...Laying the foundation by completing all tasks and test put before in any way, shape or form they come in. Via birthing the baby I call my coming album, with any necessary help; conquering any left over demons, representing on the academic front and using all my gifts and blessings to my advantage.

My life was borrowed as a loan to walk the earth. And I intend to increase my spiritual dividends so that when I return home up above...my lifes worth will equal my lifes worth. So I wanna be able to pay God back with interest. Living up to the deal my parents made, when bringing me in this world....laying the foundation to save my soul.

Why at a time in my life I didn't wanna speak...so people couldn't jus listen

It may kinda surprise some people who haven't know me before I ended up knee deep in this poetry thing...but I wasn't the most talkative/conversationalist growing up. Though I've heard I still am not by a handfull of people now a days.

When I was younger, I didn't really converse much or want to with most indivisuals I wasn't related to. So most decided to label me with the "shy/quiet" stigma. And don't misconstrue as to why I was. It wasn't that I was afraid, it was that if I ain't know you well by any short measure...I just didn't feel comfirtable being open with you. There are others even some artists and celebrities(including some of your favorite movie stars and such) that are like that even up to today, despite how they act in their profession. But as the years went by, I had no choice but to be active with conversing with strangers if I were to advance and prosper to the point I'm at today. Especially concerning school, distant relatives and at the jobs I held down over the years, given how long I had work there.

I guess with those solitary, reserved yrs. I went through some, if not all that pented up feelings and frustration that came with some missed opportunities (some potential relationships, friendships...etc...) had to come out in some form.

The stigma place on me from an early age started to be lifted little by little as I became more social and progressive in my demanor with my voice and actions regaurding school and other public places....but shades of my past descretions of being the "shy one" came back in some ways. Which affected my learning proccess during my highschool years.(there were some long nights I stayed up, pondering why I was like this and couldn't jus do what seemed to be & look so simple to and for others around me) And though I never openly addmitted it to fam & the few friends I did have. I was in a session of depression. Some wondered what was going on with me...but few bothered to even ask.

I'm not sure if anyone else went through anything even similar to this...and alot of people may be thinking "suck it up and move on already!" but if you can't even phathom to understand what I went through and am talking about...then you don't and won't ever will. Its still not easy for me to understand why I do or did certain things I have done.

But I just think, like M.I.M.S. believes music is his savior....I happen to believe in P.I.M.S.(poetry is my savior) Because i can't begin to tell you what might have done, negatively within these past two and a 1/2 yrs if I hadn't fell knee deep into the art of spoken word poetry and started to realize that WHEN THE TRUTH SPEAKS...JUS LISTEN......
